Band Bio

The Younger Sister Band is a mix of American traditions and invention - combining the storytelling of American folk and life in the 21st Century. Borrowing the sound traditions of Sun Records country and adding a NYC consciousness, The Younger Sister Band lays down original songs that bring people together in appreciation of good times, wild abandon, and the simple life.

For two years the Younger Sister Band has traveled the New York City club scene, North East folk festivals and the underground roots scene, developing a committed and consistent audience. They are best known as a live act, where deep friendship a love of traditional American music and onstage antics resonate in a warmth and engagement by everyone in the room. The band held a residency at Pianos during 2007 and 2005 and played venues such as Galapagos, The Living Room, The Knitting Factory and South Paw. They continue to perform regularly at neighborhood favorites such as Pete's Candy Store and Freddy's Backroom and as a featured band on Sunday Bluegrass Brunch at Superfine. They have performed live on WKCR, WMUC, WUSC, WKZE and on Free 103.9. They will be perfroming at this years Clearwater Revival. Their debut album, "No Desire" was released February 2007 on Monvercomp LLC.
